Kelly has been teaching my daughter flute for the past year and a half and she is amazing! Her method of teaching young people through connection and passion make her exceptional! My daughter feels encouraged, challenged, and supported in her lessons with Kelly. I would highly recommend!

I think Kelly is a wonderful teacher to my daughter Lucy. Kelly is very patient and kind throughout the whole lesson. My daughter has made a big improvement on her flute skill with Kelly’s teaching. Kelly truly is magical and I highly recommend her.

Kelly is a fantastic teacher! My daughter was about 11 when she started with Kelly, and had learned bad practices under her previous teacher. Kelly got her up to speed quickly and in a very positive manner. Kelly is always positive and motivating, and gets great results. Every concert I went to was enjoyable and it was wonderful to see my child enjoying her flute lessons so much, and excelling at playing. Even though she has graduated college and moved way, my daughter still plays her flute and keeps in touch with Kelly.

Her teaching style garnered her a teaching post for two months in 2016 at the JFK School in Berlin Germany.  As an ambassador of the Suzuki method, she was invited to do workshops for faculty in Pfullingen Germany.   Her musical calling has taken a turn and she is now the leader of the band NESSA.   In NESSA she composes, arranges, sings, and plays piano and percussion as well as flute. Nessa has been heard and interviewed on radio and internet radio stations around the U.S.and Canada including two full interviews on NPR’s State Side.

Her students are the top chairs in the top bands at their respective schools. Her students are top achievers at Solo-and-Ensemble, Michigan Youth Orchestra, Michigan Youth Band, School of the Performing Arts Youth Orchestra, Michigan All-State, and winners of select flute competitions. Many of her students go on to study flute in top universities and conservatories. She loves to teach group classes as well as private. Recently her high school students recorded a CD called “Wind Songs”.  The group calls themselves The Pitch Benders and performs regularly in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area.
Classical: “Paseos” on CGS recordings “Romantic Treasures” on Catalpa Classics
Nessa “Nessa” “Ancient Song Discovery vol.1” EP “Travel Walk to Celtica” “Otherworld” Single “The Grey Selkie”

I love to teach!  It is a passion and a calling. My mission is to "nurture with love" all who come into my studio.
My life is full raising a family, performing, and recording yet it is impossible to not see myself teaching.  I feel led to help raise consciousness and love in our world.  To bring hope and joy to humanity, especially in the midst of our consciousness shift.  I believe we have an opportunity to make positive and sustainable changes in our planet at this time. I focus on love and not fear by leading my students into possibility.  Anyone can do it! I just happen to have a flute in my hand.
